BVV Barendrecht midfielder Reber Omar in top form: 7 matches in a row, 12 goals.
The attacking midfielder from BVV Barendrecht had an autumn league and cup campaign to remember. In seven games in a row, he netted twelve goals — an incredible run that lifted his team and put him firmly in interest in professional clubs outside of holland.
Scouts on the sidelines, Excelsior shows interest
Around the winter break, several scouts turned up in Barendrecht to watch the young midfielder in action. And with good reason: professional club Excelsior showed serious interest and invited Reber for a trial with the U19/U21.
“It was an amazing experience to train with a professional club. Everything revolves around details, and I truly felt at home there,” Reber says.
Silverware secured: Rijnmond Cup victory
As if his individual stats weren’t impressive enough, Reber also helped his team lift an important trophy. BVV Barendrecht won the Rijnmond Cup, with Reber playing a key role in the team’s success. “These are the games that matter — where you have to make the difference. And I did,” says Reber.
With his performances, mentality, and eye for goal, it seems only a matter of time before Reber Omar takes the next step into professional football. Clubs now know exactly where to look.
